Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman, benefiting the USO, announces sponsors for 2014 game

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Military Bowl® presented by Northrop Grumman, benefiting the USO, today proudly announced its initial lineup of sponsors for this year’s game on Dec. 27 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. The group is a mixture of longtime bowl supporters and organizations that are partnering with the National Capital Region’s college football bowl game for the first time.

The game’s title sponsor, Northrop Grumman, and philanthropic partner, USO, return for their fifth season. Sponsorship of the Military Bowl has been a very special and unique opportunity for Northrop Grumman to support the work of the USO.

The Naval Academy Athletic Association also returns as the hosting sponsor of the game.

Military Bowl Five-Star sponsors include NewDay USA and Marriott. One of the nation’s leading VA lenders and a 2014 recipient of the Mortgage Banker’s Hall of Honor for their work in assisting our nation’s Veterans and their families, NewDay USA is once again sponsoring the pregame Medal of Honor reception. Marriott, a partner since the Bowl’s inception in 2008, will once again partner to provide lodging for participating teams and bands.

Three-Star sponsors include Northrop Grumman Federal Credit Union, which has also been a partner since the Bowl’s first year; a.i. solutions, Inc.; Katcef Brothers, Inc.-Budweiser; Navy Federal Credit Union; Shapiro, Lifschitz & Schram; and Under Armour.

Two-Star sponsors include Allstate; GEICO; and the Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference & Visitors Bureau.

One-Star Sponsors include the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation; GE Aviation; L-3 Communications; LMI Government Consulting; Pentagon Federal Credit Union; and SGT, Inc. For the second consecutive year, Pentagon Federal Credit Union is helping to provide a complimentary Papa John’s pizza to troops in uniform at the Military Bowl.

Supporting Sponsors include Capital Bank, N.A.; Marine Corps Marathon; Mercedes-Benz of Annapolis; Northern Virginia Media Services; Showcall; and Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP. Capital Bank, N.A. also is the title sponsor of the DC Touchdown Club.

“We are thrilled with the support from the business community — in Washington and Annapolis and throughout the region,” Military Bowl President & Executive Director Steve Beck said. “The Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman has cemented its place on the local sporting calendar and our fans look forward to an exciting gameday that will benefit our nation’s troops and the USO.”

This year, the Military Bowl will again donate at least $100,000 to the USO and distribute thousands of complimentary tickets to troops and their families.

The Military Bowl also thanks its parade partner, WRNR-FM.
