Anacostia High School
The Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman hosted its second annual NCAA Football Youth Clinic for 250 local children on Saturday June 14 at Anacostia High School in Washington, D.C.
The Military Bowl partnered with Events DC and Positive Choices, Inc. to put on this free event for the local community.
The event was comprised of an array of football drills and teamwork activities that helped each participant become a better player on and off the field. The participants were taught by local college and high school coaches, and enjoyed a visit from the Buffalo Bills’ E.J. Manuel and the Cleveland Browns’ Joe Haden.
The day began with stretches and a group warm up followed by football positional instruction. The kids got a break for lunch where they listened to various inspiring speakers, including NFL players Manuel and Haden. The break gave the kids a second wind and they were ready for team practices for 15 minutes before the 8×8 team competition, which ended the day.
The kids all received a gift bag including Military Bowl, Events DC and Positive Choices goodies.
The Military Bowl would like to thank Events DC, Positive Choices, Inc., the NCAA and all sponsors and volunteers for the part that each of them had in putting on this successful event.
