Army Falls Short in Fourth Quarter Against Temple

Army kept it close with Temple before giving up 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, as the Black Knights lost to the Owls, 27-13.

Army is now 3-4 and needs three more wins to clinch a spot in the 2009 EagleBank Bowl.

In ACC action, Clemson routed 2008 EagleBank Bowl winner Wake Forest, 38-3, while Boston College whipped N.C. State, 52-20.

Virginia continued its recent winning streak, defeating Maryland, 20-9, and Georgia Tech stunned highly ranked Virginia Tech, 28-23.

Miami had its way with UCF, 27-7.

In Conference USA games, undefeated Boise State squeaked by Tulsa in a thriller, 28-21. East Carolina crushed Rice, 49-13, while Houston handled Tulane, 44-16.

West Virginia battled its state rival Marshall, and the Mountaineers emerged victorious, 24-7. Mississippi demolished UAB, 48-13.

Southern Mississippi defeated Memphis by 20 points, 36-16, while SMU lost in a tight contest with Navy, 38-35. As we mentioned above, UCF lost to Miami, 27-7.

Week 7 Player of the Week
A no brainer. Boston College sophomore running back Montel Harris set a school single-game record with 264 rushing yards – on 27 carries – and scored five running touchdowns, another school record, as the Eagles defeated N.C. State, 52-20.

Week 7 Upset of the Week
Another easy pick. Georgia Tech, though itself ranked in the top 25, pulled off a shocking upset, defeating a top 5 team in Virginia Tech, 28-23.
