Army Wins, Needs One More Victory to Reach 2009 EagleBank Bowl

Army roared back from a fourth-quarter deficit, scoring a touchdown with slightly more than one minute left in the game to emerge victorious against North Texas, 17-13.

The Black Knights, now 5-6, need a win in their final regular-season game against Navy to qualify for the post-season and clinch a berth in the 2009 EagleBank Bowl.

Army has two bye weeks before squaring off at 2:30 pm on Saturday, December 12, against archrival Navy in Philadelphia.

In Conference USA action, Houston manhandled Memphis, 55-14. UCF held Tulane scoreless in a 49-0 rout.

East Carolina defeated UAB, 37-21, while Rice squeaked by UTEP, 30-29.

Marshall inched past SMU, 34-31, and Southern Mississippi beat Tulsa, 44-34.

Week 12 Player of the Week
Army’s freshman quarterback, Trent Steelman, orchestrated a wild comeback for the Black Knights, accounting for all of Army’s 62 yards in a late fourth-quarter drive that propelled the Black Knights to a 17-13 victory over North Texas. Steelman’s two-yard touchdown run with 1:13 left in the game provided the winning points for Army.
