HOME OF THE FREE … BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE SET FOR THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 8

Tickets available now for 17th annual dinner that hosts recovering service members, their families and caregivers at Walter Reed and Fort Belvoir

The Military Bowl Foundation and board member Paul Norman will host the 17th annual Home of the Free … Because of the Brave dinner at Fogo de Chao in Tysons, Va., on Thursday, September 8.

On the opening night of the NFL season, the event once again will provide a great night out for dozens of recovering service members, their families and caregivers from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.

Home of the Free … Because of the Brave tickets and sponsorships are now on sale. By purchasing tickets, sponsors and the other attendees cover the costs for service members to take part in the event.

Home of the Free … Because of the Brave is one of our favorite events,” Military Bowl Foundation President & Executive Director Steve Beck said. “It is incredibly gratifying to host the recovering service members and allow them the opportunity to leave the hospital for a night and enjoy a first-class dining experience.

“Each year, the service members in attendance share their personal stories and their gratitude for the opportunity to get out for a brief respite from the recoveries. It is heart-warming to see the impact the dinner makes and strengthens our resolve to make the next Home of the Free … Because of the Brave even better.”

In addition to an exceptional meal, the service members and caregivers receive gift cards, are invited to attend the annual Military Bowl presented by Peraton college football game and have the opportunity to win prizes. Following the meal, attendees can watch the NFL season opener between the Super Bowl defending champion Los Angeles Rams and the Buffalo Bills.

Proceeds from the dinner benefit Patriot Point, the Military Bowl Foundation’s retreat for recovering service members, their families and caregivers on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
