Fundraising drive benefits USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore
The Military Bowl presented by Perspecta, benefiting USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore, today announced that it will host a new fundraising drive, the Season of Support to drive awareness and raise funds for USO-Metro.
“Like everyone else, the Military Bowl and its nonprofit partners have had their fundraising efforts affected by the global health crisis,” Military Bowl President & Executive Director Steve Beck said. “Our team has created the Season of Support to help fill this void and provide an avenue for the public to connect with the Military Bowl and support one of our beneficiaries, USO-Metro, which does an incredible job of providing resources for the men and women who serve our nation.”
Season of Support kicks off on Giving Tuesday, December 1, and consists of a month-long effort to spotlight USO-Metro’s impact supporting service members throughout the National Capital Region. The Season of Support culminates in the annual Military Bowl presented by Perspecta on Monday, December 28.

“In a year like 2020, USO-Metro could not be more grateful for the support of partners like Military Bowl,” USO-Metro Executive Director Lisa Marie Riggins said. “While our world came to a standstill in March, the mission of our service members has not faltered. They are continuing to serve our country, and the USO is continuing our mission to serve our military communities.
“Our organization has adapted many of our programs and services to safely support our service members and their families – from grab-and-go meals and virtual programs to drive-thru food assistance programs and holiday programs. It is through the generous financial support of individuals and organizations in the local community that USO-Metro is able to fulfill its mission, and we are thankful for all those who have chosen to support the work that we do for our service members & their families.”
