PATRIOT POINT MAKES STRONG FIRST IMPRESSION

In its first full year of operation, Patriot Point will host nearly 400 guests with more than 550 days of use in 2017. The 290-acre property on the Maryland’s Eastern Shore, which was created as a retreat for recovering service members, their families and their caregivers, also hosts a variety of retreats.

“What we are doing at Patriot Point is awesome,” DC Bowl Committee President & Executive Director Steve Beck said. “We are proud to be able to help the men and women who serve our great nation and look forward to bigger and better things in the coming year at Patriot Point.”

The DC Bowl Committee purchased Patriot Point in the spring of 2016 and immediately began upgrades to the property, which sits along 2.3 miles of shoreline about 15 miles west of Cambridge.

Patriot Point guests enjoy a variety of outdoor recreation activities including watersports such as kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding, boating, fishing, hunting and a 3-D archery course. Patriot Point has partnered with several military service organizations, such as USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore, Yellow Ribbon Fund and Heroes On the Water.

In less than two years since establishing Patriot Point, much has changed at the property. A new Barn, Caretaker’s Residence and Outfitter’s Cabin are nearing completion. Earlier this month, Strittmatter Companies donated a new tractor to Patriot Point.
