Army Ends Three-Game Skid with Win Over VMI

Army notched its fourth win of the year with a 22-17 victory over VMI.

Trent Steelman threw for a career-high 174 yards, Patrick Mealy rushed for a career-best 136 yards and Alex Carlton kicked three field goals as the Black Knights halted a three-game losing streak.

Army can reach the 2009 EagleBank Bowl with victories in each of its final two regular season games.

In ACC action on Saturday, conference leader Georgia Tech thumped Duke, 49-10. Clemson beat N.C. State, 43-23. Florida State defeated Wake Forest, 41-28.

Virginia Tech crushed Maryland, 36-9. North Carolina upset Miami, 33-24. And Boston College squeaked by Virginia, 14-10.

A shocker in Conference USA on Saturday, as UCF upset Houston, 37-32.

In other conference games, UAB won by 10 points against Memphis, 31-21. Southern Mississippi was a touchdown better than Marshall, 27-20. SMU beat UTEP, 35-31.

Rice picked up its first win of the year, defeating Tulane, 28-20. And East Carolina manhandled Tulsa, 44-17.

Week 11 Player of the Week
North Carolina cornerback Kendric Burney had three interceptions, including one that he returned 77 yards for a touchdown, as the Tar Heels stunned nationally ranked Miami, 33-24.

One big upset each in the ACC and Conference USA. North Carolina downed Miami, 33-24, while UCF shocked Houston, 37-32.
