The Military Bowl® presented by Northrop Grumman was proud to partner with several outstanding organizations to host a free youth football clinic for nearly 500 local children on Saturday, June 23 at Eastern Senior High School in Washington, D.C.
The NCAA Football Youth Clinic Hosted by the Military Bowl, Events DC and Positive Choices gave participants an opportunity to engage in a full day of football drills and character-building activities, working with an excellent staff of volunteers including local college coaches and professional football players.
Youth participants worked with coaches from Bowie State University, Howard University, Morgan State University and Towson University, as well as professional football players including Tampa Bay Buccaneer Arrelious Benn, New Orleans Saint Nate Bussey, Houston Texan Roc Carmichael, Washington Redskin Tanard Jackson, Washington Redskin Josh Morgan, Houston Texan Darius Morris and Baltimore Raven Tyrod Taylor.
After a morning filled with warmups and drills, participants retreated to the air-conditioned gym for lunch and a chance to hear a Q&A session with some of the pros. After cooling off and resting up, everyone hit the field again for an afternoon of 7-on-7 games and more valuable instruction. Participants left with a gift bag full of football goodies, including a ticket voucher for this year’s Military Bowl on December 27 at RFK Stadium.
Thank you to NCAA Football, Events DC, Positive Choices, Inc., and all of the sponsors and volunteers for helping create such a great experience for local youth.
