EagleBank Bowl and Marriott Deliver Thanksgiving Turkeys to Marines at Joint Base Myer

For the Thanksgiving holidays, the EagleBank Bowl, in conjunction with Marriott International, the game’s Official Hotel Partner, today delivered 100 turkeys to marines serving at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Arlington, Va., which will then be distributed to additional marines and their families serving in detachments in Washington, D.C., and Maryland.

As part of its continued commitment to the nation’s military and recognizing that many marines serving in the region will be away from their families during the holidays, the turkey delivery will help provide support to local marines during Thanksgiving.

“The EagleBank Bowl was founded in part to recognize and pay respect to the unwavering dedication and sacrifices made by all of those who serve our country and protect the freedoms we hold so dear,” says Steve Beck, executive director of the EagleBank Bowl. “Together, with Marriott, we are honored to play a small part in making this year’s Thanksgiving season a little brighter for those serving in our area.”

This past Monday, the EagleBank Bowl, along with its charitable partner, the Wounded Warrior Project, delivered care packages to wounded veterans at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in hopes of brightening their Thanksgiving holidays as well.

Marriott, as the game’s Official Hotel Partner, will house the participating teams, league officials, staff, sponsors and special guests. The JW Marriott Washington, D.C., will serve as the Bowl’s Headquarter Hotel during Bowl Week and will also host the Teams Luncheon on Sunday, December 27. Special discount rates are available for visitors, alumni and fans attending the game.

This year’s EagleBank Bowl is set for 4:30 pm on Tuesday, December 29, broadcast live on ESPN from the historic RFK Stadium.
