EagleBank Bowl Community and Volunteer Event Set for October 22

The EagleBank Bowl will hold a Community Involvement and Volunteer Information Summit at the Renaissance Washington, D.C., Hotel from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Thursday, October 22.

At this summit, interested persons, charities and local businesses can meet EagleBank Bowl officials and staff, find out about the variety of ways to get involved or volunteer with the 2009 EagleBank Bowl, and learn more about the 2009 game and Bowl Week activities.

“This is the D.C. region’s bowl game, and everyone has a chance to get involved, whether you are an individual, group, charity or local business,” says Steve Beck, Executive Director of the EagleBank Bowl. “Last year’s inaugural EagleBank Bowl owes much of its success to the tremendous support and tireless dedication of our volunteers. At this summit, we look forward to welcoming new faces to the EagleBank Bowl community.”

Active opportunities in 2009 include:
EagleBank Bowl Ambassador Program – Represent the EagleBank Bowl in your local community via three category levels
“Top 60” Program – Ticket recognition program for individuals and charities
EagleBank Bowl Youth Football Initiative – Fundraising program involving regional youth football leagues
dEBBit Card Program – Local businesses can get involved by participating in a consumer purchase-card program
Bowl Week Volunteer Team – Volunteer for the game or Bowl Week activities

Interested individuals, groups, charities and local businesses are invited to attend the summit. Reserve your space by emailing volunteers@EagleBankBowl.org. Individuals must be 18 years or older to volunteer. For more information, please call Brian Chisolm at 202-527-7706.

This year’s EagleBank Bowl is set for 4:30 pm on Tuesday, December 29, from the historic RFK Stadium. The game will match Army against a team from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). If Army is not bowl-eligible, a team from Conference USA will be selected as the ACC’s opponent.
