ROBERT A. ZAHN JR. JOINS DC BOWL COMMITTEE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Son of a U.S. Army veteran is an East Carolina University graduate and is the co-founder of the NIEUW Group, which operates restaurants in Washington and New York
The DC Bowl Committee, Inc., which operates the Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman, today announced that Robert A. Zahn Jr. has joined the board of directors.
Zahn, a graduate of East Carolina University, was raised in a military family in North Carolina. His father, Robert Sr., retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. Zahn also has a degree in forensic psychology from Marymount University.
In 2010, Zahn became a small percentage managing partner of a New York City restaurant and two years later, he co-founded the NIEUW Group Inc., and opened Manhattan Proper. Proper West opened in New York City in 2014 and two years after that, NIEUW opened its first Washington location, Proper 21.
“We are excited to have Robert join our board of directors,” DC Bowl Committee President & Executive Director Steve Beck said. “He is committed to our mission is honoring and supporting our nation’s service members and understands the sacrifices these men and women make.”
